WHO WE ARE

Association for Women in Science, Inc. (AWIS)  is a national non-profit that was founded in 1971.  AWIS is dedicated to achieving equity and full participation of women in all areas of science, technology, and engineering. AWIS has over 5000 women scientists and other individuals who care about diversity across all fields in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

The Rhode Island Chapter of AWIS (AWIS-RI) was founded in September, 2022. As the newest chapter, we are working to bring the benefits of AWIS membership to women in RI and southern New England. When you join AWIS, you join as a member of the national organization, and receive access to all member resources in addition to our  local programs.
